Xbox One Revelation

Alright, we've been making predictions and jokes, hash tagging our Xbox Memories on Twitter, and calling it the Xbox 720. Well, turns out we overshot it by about 719, because Microsoft's just revealed the Xbox One. So, what do we think of the name? I'm pretty sure they're setting parents everywhere up for failure - "Merry Christmas, I got you the first Xbox, just like you wanted! Oh you said Xbox One? How's that different?" or, "But PS4's so much higher than Xbox One, soit must be better."

Anyway, the Xbox One is designed to be an all-in-one system for games, TV, and entertainment- so it can do things like watch TV, open a web browser (ugh, Internet Explorer), and of course, play games. They're boasting Snap Mode - you can now run multiple applications without having to shut one down and start another - congratulations, consoles are FINALLYBEGINNING to catch up to PCs.

As for specs, the Xbox One has an 8 core CPU, 8 Gigs of ram, built-in wifi, and a blu-ray drive. They've also redone the controller, including a newly-designed d-pad - but how much can you really do to a dpad? Other features include a new Kinect sensor, native video editing and sharing tools, Skype, and the future of matchmaking - "search for your perfect match in a game, while you play another game, watch a movie, or browse the web" - congratulations, once again Xbox is just emulating PCs now.

Aside from sports, sports, and MORE sports, Microsoft revealed a new Halo game! Wait, no they didn't - they revealed a Halo TV series - by Steven Spielburg, so let's see how long this one lasts! Cough cough Terranova. They also showed off a handful of games like FIFA14 Ultimate Game, Forza Motorsport 5, and Quantum Break - which has perhaps the most cringe worthy tag line I've ever heard - "Time is the fire in which we burn" - SO DEEP.

Well, we wished for a new IP, didn't we? Be careful what you wish for. And of course, the obligatory Call of Duty reveal, featuring brand new features like jumping over walls, running and sliding....and leaning out of cover to fire on the enemy.......It's also built on a brand new call of duty engine that lets you see details like....arm hair.

Anyway, the Xbox One will be out "later this year" - what did you guys think? I'm not tooimpressed, but I wanna hear your thoughts on the console, the presentation, and whether or not you're going to be camping out to get one on launch day. Leave me a comment below and tweet me @JessBrohard to let me know. Be sure to subscribe if you haven't already, and as always, thanks for watching, enjoy the game.
